About Alexandre Shehata, M.D.
Alexandre Shehata, M.D., is an internal medicine physician with experience in primary care, urgent care, and hospital medicine. Dr. Shehata is committed to serving the community and getting to know his patients in order to provide the best care possible. He takes a holistic approach to patient care, addressing an individual’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Shehata received his medical degree from October 6 University – Faculty of Medicine. He completed his internship at Cairo University Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Shehata participated in research on sepsis at Mount Sinai Morningside and went on to complete his residency at Mountainside Medical Center. He is certified by Telluride Academy as an Emerging Leader in Patient Safety.
Dr. Shehata is an experienced researcher with articles published in a number of high-impact academic journals, among them The BMJ, JAMA, The Annals of Internal Medicine, and the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. His most recent research is in collaboration with Brigham and Women’s hospital and he was a co-investigator in the STOP-COVID project.
When not treating patients, Dr. Shehata enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking and bird watching. He is an avid chess and backgammon player. Dr. Shehata enjoys playing tennis and soccer and has achieved the blue belt rank in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
